In math we have been focusing a lot on our understanding of adding and subtracting numbers. Today we learned a new game called “subtraction smash” that we got to play with partners. It was a fun way to practice this concept and show what we know.

We had a blast in Kindergarten today celebrating the 100th day of school. We counted our 100 collections, we made a 100th day snack, made 100th day crowns, and fruit loop necklaces, then ended the day with awards for our 100 days of learning so far! :) Since we have to stay indoors for our brain break time from learning, we have lots of fun doing puzzles. I love watching the team work and problem solving the kids take part in while doing the puzzles. My favorite part to watch is how excited they get when they finish a puzzle!
The day after Halloween is the perfect day for a movie and PJ day. We were cozy inside on this chilly day watching Ice Age 😊
Today in Kindergarten we practiced our concept of “hidden partners” in math by counting dots on dominoes and matching them to the number that the dots made all together. “Hidden partners” will help us learn how to add numbers.
We’ve been enjoying the time when we get to practice “read to self” even just by telling ourselves a story or looking for letters. Today we practiced read to a “book buddy” and tried out some of our new seating options!
We’ve been busy learning some new math games in Kindergarten this week that help us with number sense. Lots of fun while learning along the way!
For math time today we explored with numbers using dice and “number bingo” and noticed that numbers can be shown different ways.
We’ve had a great first week back to school in Kindergarten! We’ve been learning how to take care of our books and how to “read” the pictures even if we don’t know how to read yet. 😊
For one of our last few days of kindergarten together we had an outside fun day today. We played with bubbles, giant frisbees, hula hoops, and chalk. What a beautiful day!
